Public Works

The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining the infrastructure of the City. Their crews tend to the care and maintenance of public streets and right-of-ways including:

  • Drainage
  • Garbage pickup
  • Grass cutting and removal of storm debris
  • Sidewalk and pothole repair

The department’s street sweeper cleans the streets of West Monroe on a regular basis.

Wastewater Treatment Plant

In addition to maintaining our roadways and public grounds, Public Works oversees the city’s water supply and wastewater treatment plant, ensuring the environmental quality of your water. The new Waste Water Treatment Plant is considered to be a national model for its design, earning numerous recognitions and awards for its cutting-edge technology and environmentally-friendly outcomes.

Hasley Cemetery

Hasley Cemetery, the historic city cemetery located on Arkansas Road, is maintained by Public Works.
